About us
Hi, I'm Sarah
I started riding as a young mum, with daughter Emily, around 25 years ago. We initially learned together at a local riding school and then purchased Philly a 13.2h pony and a couple of years later Frankie a 16h TB cross. They took us from our first riding school lessons to grass roots level BS, BE and BD competitions. Emily took pony club tests up to and including B test and enjoyed competing on teams and I sat BHS stage 1 and 2 horsemanship exams and joined the local riding club. Two decades may have passed but I still enjoy club life, competitions and camp with Bertie and Herbie.
I was inspired to train to be a physiotherapist by a wonderful practitioner who helped me keep our horse Frankie competing into his twenties.
I treat many types of equine athletes but particularly enjoy working closely with owner riders who strive to compete whilst juggling busy working and family lives – this is my background and one I understand so well.

Hi, I'm Annemarie
I joined Step-by-Step Veterinary Physiotherapy in 2021. I have ridden and produced my own ponies and horses since childhood and am an accomplished rider who loves show jumping. I have also worked in racing and in a large veterinary hospital in Bucks.
My role
My role is to manage the day to day care of the Step by Step horses, Herbie and Bertie, ride out with Sarah and assist with filming, demos and research. Sarah has asked me to compete Herbie in show jumping and we are currently out at unaffiliated shows at 80 and 90 cms.
